About the positions

Due to its strong growth, Rennes School of Business (Rennes SB) has multiple permanent faculty positions open at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor level in the areas of Accounting, Entrepreneurship, Finance, HRM, Information Systems, Innovation, Marketing, Organizational Behavior, Organization Theory, Strategy, Supply Chain Management, and International Business.

Start date is Sept 2022. Appointments will be made at the rank consistent with research, teaching records and the number of years of experience at a comparable institution.

Our focus is on producing high-quality research that is impactful both for the academic and the practitioner communities. Although all quality research is encouraged and welcome, our research is mainly organized around four main Areas of Excellence: Agribusiness, AI-driven Business, Green, Digital, & Demand-Driven Supply Chain Management, and Managing Complexity, hosted in our Research.Lab. About the candidates

We are looking for motivated, dynamic, high-potential candidates with the following characteristics:

  • Doctoral degree in a business-related field from an internationally recognized institution (e.g., AACSB). High-potential candidates who are close to completion will also be considered;
  • Publication record (or high publication potential) in high quality international peer-reviewed research journals in management
  • Willingness to contribute to the development and growth of the School
  • Ability to deliver quality classes in English in the discipline one is hired for. Prior knowledge of French is not required
  • Proactive and collegial attitude toward her/his colleagues, academic department, and the School as a whole

Post-Doctoral research position (12 months) in Agri-Food/Consumer Experience

CALL FOR POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH POSITION IN AGRI-FOOD

The Agribusiness Area of Excellence, Rennes School of Business is opening a position to work as part of a research team on a company research project relating to food and information technologies experiences in France and the USA.

 

Eligibility criteria

To be eligible, post-doc candidates should hold a PhD (or be close to completion) in marketing with a particular focus on qualitative methods and consumer experiences. In the case that the candidate does not have a PhD degree by the date of her/his submission, (s)he should present a letter from her/his supervisor certifying that he/she will obtain his/her Ph.D. by the 31st of December 2021, at the latest.

The candidate should have an excellent level of both English and French and experience with qualitative interviewing techniques.

The successful applicant will also be expected to be able to plan and carry out a variety of research tasks relating to the project in English and French, to manage time, resources, data, and feedback to the team. The ideal candidate will be thinking of this position as a platform to build skills towards taking on a research professorship in the future.

English proficiency should be evidenced by a recent (2 years’ maximum) TOEFL (equivalent 110 IBT minimum) or IELTS (7.5 overall score with >/=7 in all 4 sections). The TOEIC is not accepted. Non-native French speakers should provide similar levels of excellence in spoken and written French.

 

Evaluation criteria

The Assessment Committee will focus on the scientific quality of the application and on the post-doctoral research project. Five criteria will be used in evaluating candidates: CV, quality of research, interview, and presentation of a research paper.

The selection will have two phases:

Phase I: The Recruitment Committee will shortlist applicants based on their research experience, the quality of their research (approach, methodology, results), the complementarity between their research proposal and the research interests and expertise of the area of excellence.

 

Phase II: Interviews with the shortlisted candidates will be organized. Candidates will be evaluated on their presentation and communication skills, on the compatibility between their experience and skills and the objectives of the project.

All applicants will be notified of their status in the recruitment process shortly after the application deadline.  Once the recruitment process is completed, each applicant will be notified of the outcome of their application.

 

Characteristics of the post-doctoral research position

  • 12 months French law work contract
  • 30 K euros gross /year salary (+ paid vacation, retirement, health insurance)

  • 60 h teaching per academic year
  • Expectation for publication of 3 papers

For visa issue, postdoc will get a specific hosting agreement (“convention d’accueil”).
