Bachelor: a new double degree available in partnership with Lakehead University

Rennes School of Business has signed a new double degree agreement with the Faculty of Business Administration at Lakehead University in Canada. This gives students the unique international learning opportunity to study in France and Canada, whilst earning two degrees from two separate institutions.

The Faculty of Business Administration at Lakehead University

Lakehead University is a fully comprehensive university with approximately 9,700 full-time equivalent students and over 2,000 faculty and staff at two campuses in Orillia and Thunder Bay, Ontario. It has an excellent reputation in various national and international rankings with the Faculty of Business Administration enjoying both AACSB and CPA accreditations. Lakehead University is already part of Rennes’ School of Business international network of partnerships, but this new double degree comes to reinforce the portfolio of international double degrees available as part of the Bachelor in Management.

The opportunity to earn two degrees

Thanks to this partnership, students from Rennes School of Business and Lakehead University will have the opportunity to earn two degrees from two separate institutions during their studies (one from Lakehead and one from Rennes), all whilst developing international connections and global skills.

Lakehead students will go on a year-long exchange in the third year, before returning to Lakehead to complete their studies. Upon graduation, they will receive both an Honours Bachelor of Commerce from Lakehead and a Bachelor in Management from Rennes School of Business.

Rennes School of Business students who go to Lakehead in their third year will earn a Bachelor of Administration from Lakehead, and return to France to earn a Bachelor in Management from Rennes SB.

For Dr David Richards, Dean of Lakehead’s Faculty of Business Administration:We are very excited to offer this new opportunity to all current and future Lakehead students, and to welcome students from Rennes to Lakehead University.

For Thomas Froehlicher, Director General and Dean of Rennes School of Business: I am delighted with this collaboration which allows us to propose an alliance between Canada and Ontario on the one hand, and France and the region of Brittany on the other. It is also a great achievement to structure an excellent academic relationship at an undergraduate level with Lakehead University which shows mutual esteem and trust.

Elodie Saint-Yves, International Mobility Manager at Rennes School of Business said about the partnership:This partnership provides a unique opportunity for students on both sides to obtain a French and a Canadian bachelor’s degree within a year. It is a very exciting achievement that we all look forward to seeing flourish!

Why choose a double degree during the Bachelor in Management?

Choosing to study a Double Degree abroad during the Bachelor in Management gives students the opportunity to spend an entire academic year in a different country, immersed in a completely new culture and language. Students will experience different teaching methods from experienced professors, alongside international students from around the world.

Upon successful completion of the requirements of both institutions during their year abroad, students will graduate with two specialised bachelor’s degrees from different institutions: one from Rennes School of Business and the other from one of our partner universities, giving them a competitive edge in the job market.

The International Mobility team at Rennes School of Business guides students during the process of choosing the programme and partner university that is best suited to them. The team remains available to support students throughout their studies abroad. Rennes SB has a strong system of international connections and was ranked in the Top 25 in the U-multirank student mobility category for the second consecutive year in 2021.
