FLE Accreditation: Rennes School of Business’ languages department is awarded the maximum 4-year accreditation for the quality of its teaching

Many international students at the School benefit from lessons in French as a Foreign Language to help them integrate into France and learn about its culture.

Jointly awarded by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, the Ministry of Higher Education and Research and the Ministry of Culture and Communication, the France Langue Etrangère (FLE- French as a Foreign Language) quality label is focused on five main areas: reception – premises – management – teaching staff – courses and programmes. Rennes School of Business has been awarded the maximum 4-year accreditation for the quality of its language teaching.

Rennes School of Business has an intensely international identity with over 55% of its students and 95% of its Faculty originating from outside of France. Students at Rennes SB are surrounded by a strong international presence throughout their studies and have different opportunities to travel abroad for an educational exchange with one of the School’s 300 partner universities!

Rennes SB is consistently recognised in the rankings for its international identity and places great importance on promoting the social integration of the international members of its community.

Académie Diderot de Rennes SBIn order to develop their communicative abilities, during the course of their studies at Rennes SB, non-Francophone students have access to 30 hours of French language lessons either during one semester or throughout the School year, according to the requirements of different programmes. These classes place a focus on oral communication in French language and are taught by experienced and qualified language teachers in groups that are organised according to the linguistic abilities of students, usually on-site and in-person when it is possible according to government recommendations.

What’s more, for international students that wish to complete their training in French as a Foreign Language, Rennes School of Business recently created its Academie Diderot, a selection of additional and elective courses which focus on speaking practice in real-life situations and activities which help students immerse themselves in French culture and integrate the French professional sphere.

The Academie Diderot has a range of courses available which students are able to select according to their personal level and language goals.

We wish to further support international students in their appropriation of the French language and the codes of French culture in business so that they develop their attractiveness to French employers and fully benefit French businesses from their other technical, managerial and multicultural skills.”
