Alumni story: Florent and Anaïs around the globe

When two Rennes SB Alumni decide to travel the world.

Florent JACHIMIAK (P18) and Anaïs ANDRE (P20) are two Alumni from Rennes School of Business. A year ago, they decided to go on a crazy adventure:  a round-the-world trip. They launched Les Gros Sacs, a French-speaking travel blog with many followers! We asked Florent a few questions…

Hello Florent, Anaïs and you are former students from Rennes School of Business! What did you study?

Anaïs followed the MSc Digital Marketing & Communication  and I followed a double degree Master in International Business (MIB) as an exchange student in Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico.

Before you started traveling, what kind of job did you have?

Before we left, Anaïs was a Digital Project Manager in a cosmetics start-up. I was a Business Analyst in Information Systems at AXA, a French insurance company.

What pushed you to leave Paris and go on a world tour?

It was a common dream that we had been sharing for a while. Our stay in Mexico (Anaïs joined me there for a six-month exchange) really made us want to discover other countries, new cultures, and new people. And, to tell the truth, we also wanted a break from our little Parisian routine!

Where have you been traveling so far?

We’ve been on the road for about 11 months and have been through many countries: Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia and now Chile! The plan is to finish our trip with Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Colombia and of course, Mexico.

Very impressive! Now, if you had any advice to give our students, what would it be?

Dare! And don’t let any opportunity pass by.
