The Executive Master of Science in International Business Management (EMSc IBM) is an 18-month graduate programme exclusively delivered in China, in the vibrant city of Shanghai. Designed for experienced professionals who seek to strengthen their managerial capabilities and gain a global perspective on modern business challenges, this programme combines 14 months of coursework with a dedicated 4-month Graduate Project Report. Through a blended learning model—mixing face-to-face sessions, online teaching, business visits, and applied consulting projects—the programme offers a comprehensive and practice-oriented educational experience supported jointly by Rennes School of Business and GAOSHI faculty.
Participants first develop a solid foundation across key areas of business administration, including organisational behaviour, financial management, strategic management, operations, economics, marketing innovation, and research methods. They then deepen their expertise by choosing between two specialised tracks: Global Innovation Management or Enterprise Digitalisation & AI. Enriched with seminars, case studies, and industry immersion with benchmark enterprises, the EMSc IBM prepares executives to lead with confidence in increasingly complex, tech-driven international environments. The programme culminates in a substantial Graduate Project Report (40 ECTS), enabling participants to apply academic insights to real business issues while benefiting from mentorship from both institutions. Fully anchored in the Chinese professional landscape, this Shanghai-based programme offers a unique bridge between global management excellence and the strategic transformation needs of China’s rapidly evolving industries.

There are altogether 90 ECTs in the Executive Master of Science program.
Three milestones in GPR: Research Proposal – Literature Review – Report. It can be written in a pair work on a selected topic of AI business application.
Applicants must meet one of the following: • Bachelor degree, with minimum 5 years of work and management experience. • Bachelor degree equivalent (with equivalent academic certificate and transcript), with minimum 5 years of work and management experience.
