The Houses at Rennes School of Business

Since the start of the 2025 academic year, students at Rennes School of Business have been buzzing about a brand new initiative: Houses. Inspired by the Anglo-Saxon model, these cross-disciplinary communities are designed to forge links between students from all programmes and encourage a lively, inclusive and international campus experience, complementing student life.

A collective experience at RSB

Why Houses at Rennes School of Business?

They were designed to:

  • create a united community between the Rennes and Paris campuses;
  • offer everyone a space for engagement and discovery;
  • promote intercultural exchanges and encounters between programmes;
  • encourage participation and initiative;
  • make campus life even more dynamic and inclusive.

What is a House?

A House is a large team that automatically brings together students from all programmes (Bachelor’s, PGE, MSc, work-study students, international students, etc.), as well as volunteer staff and faculty members.

Each student is assigned to a House upon arrival at the school. Membership is automatic, but participation in activities is voluntary and has no academic impact.

Houses are run throughout the year by student volunteers and offer events, projects, challenges and competitions that allow students to earn points for their community and win the Annual House Trophy.

The four Houses

Each student remains in the same House throughout their studies, and even after graduation as Alumni:

  • Aeris
  • Terra
  • Aqua
  • Ignis

Each House is run by a House Council, made up of students

General operation

  • Automatic assignment to one of the four Houses upon arrival at the school. You don’t choose, your House chooses you!
  • Voluntary participation in events and projects offered throughout the year, from Rennes, Paris and even abroad.
  • Single language of communication: English, to ensure the inclusion of all profiles.
  • Intra- and inter-House events throughout the year: tournaments, creative challenges, solidarity actions, festivals, etc.
  • Points system rewarding individual or collective participation and commitment.

The Houses do not replace any associations: they are a complement, designed to connect all RSB students.

Why participate?

Getting involved in your House means, above all:

  • meeting students from all backgrounds and programmes;
  • participating in original events on the Rennes and Paris campuses;
  • developing skills that will be useful for your future (teamwork, communication, leadership, creativity);
  • representing your community in collective challenges;
  • experiencing the school in a different way, in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.

Even with a busy schedule, everyone can participate at their own pace, according to their desires and availability.

Points, challenges and rewards

Throughout the year, Houses compete in various types of activities:

  • academic: projects, competitions, collective initiatives;
  • sports: tournaments, races, inter-campus events;
  • creative: festivals, hackathons, artistic challenges;
  • solidarity: local actions, sustainability, social engagement.

Each participation earns points for its House. An annual ranking rewards the most committed House!

A 100% international experience

The Houses are entirely English-speaking and open to all profiles.

They embody the international dimension of RSB and allow every student, whether French or foreign, to express themselves, exchange ideas and progress in a multicultural environment.
