A collective experience at RSB
A House is a large team that automatically brings together students from all programmes (Bachelor’s, PGE, MSc, work-study students, international students, etc.), as well as volunteer staff and faculty members.
Each student is assigned to a House upon arrival at the school. Membership is automatic, but participation in activities is voluntary and has no academic impact.
Houses are run throughout the year by student volunteers and offer events, projects, challenges and competitions that allow students to earn points for their community and win the Annual House Trophy.
Each student remains in the same House throughout their studies, and even after graduation as Alumni:
Each House is run by a House Council, made up of students

The Houses do not replace any associations: they are a complement, designed to connect all RSB students.
Even with a busy schedule, everyone can participate at their own pace, according to their desires and availability.
Each participation earns points for its House. An annual ranking rewards the most committed House!
The Houses are entirely English-speaking and open to all profiles.
They embody the international dimension of RSB and allow every student, whether French or foreign, to express themselves, exchange ideas and progress in a multicultural environment.
What is the purpose of the Houses system?
The aim of the Houses is to create bonds and promote cohesion among all Rennes School of Business students.
They provide a shared experience beyond the programmes, encourage diversity and involve the whole community in fun, cultural and solidarity-based activities.
Is it compulsory?
No. Assignment is automatic, but participation is entirely voluntary. There is no impact on courses or grades.
How are Houses assigned?
Each student was able to discover their House during the Welcome Days.
Can you change Houses?
No. Once assigned, students remain in their House throughout their time at RSB and as alumni.
Do you have to be in a club to participate?
No. Houses are open to everyone, whether you are a member of a club or not. They complement club life without replacing it.
How do they relate to classes?
Houses extend the RSB learning experience through practical and collaborative activities. They encourage the practical application of the skills learned in class: communication, interculturality, organisation, leadership and creativity.
What is the role of staff and teachers?
Staff and faculty members also participate in House life as mentors, supporters or participants. Their presence strengthens the bond between students and the entire RSB community.
