Solidarity projects

At Rennes School of Business, civic engagement is an integral part of the educational programme. Solidarity projects promote learning, personal development and collective awareness. Linked to social responsibility, they enable students to take practical action in their local area and beyond, while embracing fundamental values.

A teaching approach rooted in reality: the Reciprocity module

Part of the Bachelor in Management programme, the Reciprocity module reflects Rennes School of Business’ ambition to train responsible professionals who are sensitive to social issues. It offers each student an immersion experience with non-profit associations or organisations, working on concrete missions defined with partners such as LADAPT, the Food Bank, UNICEF, the Red Cross and Amnesty International.

During these projects, students develop key skills—project management, responsible communication, teamwork, autonomy—making Reciprocity a demanding learning environment where social impact and professional rigour come together.

A community life focused on solidarity

The richness of RSB’s community life is a driving force for ongoing commitment. Every year, hundreds of students get involved in projects with a strong social impact, led by dynamic student associations.

  • OPÉRA, an association for equal opportunities, carries out actions with young people from modest backgrounds. Recently, a trip to Paris allowed them to discover the National Assembly and the Senate in a civic context.
  • Initiatives such as Clean Up Days, charity concerts, blood drives and the student Telethon punctuate the academic year and mobilise the entire community around common causes.
  • These projects, often initiated directly by students, are supported by the school in a spirit of responsible autonomy.

A structuring commitment for the entire community

Beyond student projects, social openness and solidarity permeate all of the school’s actions, notably through:

  • Partnerships with secondary schools, preparatory classes and associative networks to encourage diversity of profiles.
  • The RSB Foundation, created in 2022, which funds scholarships, projects with a strong social impact and actions to combat self-censorship in secondary schools.
  • Specific support for students with disabilities, international students or those from modest backgrounds, provided through Student Helpers, the Career Service, the International Service, the FeelGood centre and the Alumni teams.

Training committed actors for tomorrow’s world

Through its culture of commitment, Rennes School of Business trains enlightened citizens who are capable of working towards a more just, inclusive and sustainable society. By encouraging student involvement in causes of general interest, the school combines academic excellence and social impact in the service of the common good.
