ALEXAKIS

Dr Christos Alexakis is Associate Professor at the Rennes SB and a Visiting Professor at the University Cattolica in Italy, and Research Fellow at Thammasat Business School in Thailand. He has written several papers published in high quality academic journals, as well as several books related to finance (e.g. Takaful – Islamic Insurance, Elgar 2019). Apart from his academic experience Prof. Alexakis has extensive professional experience in the financial markets CEO in companies in the financial sector. During the period 2010-2011 he was the CEO in Enterprise Greece SA, the official investment promotion agency for Greece. During his term and according to the World Bank Group’s Global Investment Promotion Best Practices Report, Enterprise Greece SA systematically presented “a solid business case” and “leapt from being an average facilitator in 2009 to one of the world’s best practice agencies”. He has also advisory experience in the financial sector as a member of the Stakeholders Group of the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), a member of the Selection Panel of the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund (HFSF) appointed by the Governor of the Central Bank of Greece and non-executive independent Board Member in a listed Bank.
