  • Risk governance: development of tools to analyse the effectiveness and legitimacy of EU environmental technical risk appraisal processes for complex risks.
  • AI : Analysis of the social acceptability of the use of AI for non-hedonistic type decision processes.
  • Organisational resilience:
    • the incidence of decision-making modes for resilience activation in crises,
    • exploring synergies & tensions between resilience and sustainability goals,
    • knowledge transfer via the conception of resilience serious games.

Dr. Joanne Gardner Le Gars, Assistant Professor of Management and Organisation at Rennes School of Business, holds a PhD in Science and Technology Studies (University of Exeter) and an Executive MBA (London Business School). She previously worked in strategy and project management across finance, real estate, and healthcare sectors in international markets. Her research focuses on environmental risk governance, organizational resilience and crisis management, and the use of serious games in management education.

She has obtained financing for EU-funded projects, undertaken consultancy in organizational resilience, and contributes to editorial and research networks. Joanne teaches research methods, Lean Six Sigma, and Agile project management, supervises research students, and is engaged in international collaborations on resilience and AI.
