Dr Alexander Niess is a Professor of Management Accounting. He earned his Ph.D. in Management of Organizations from HEC Paris Business School. His research interests revolve around the behavioral impact of management control on people in organizations.

He has experience teaching classes at different levels (undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate, executive) in Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, Management Control, Financial Analysis.

He has published in leading journals including Journal of Organizational Change Management and Leadership.

Dr Alexander Niess has held the position of Head of Department in Management and Organizations as well as Programme Director of the MSc of Creative Project Management, Culture and Design at Rennes School of Business.
