In its 2026 ranking of the most attractive student cities, published in its special edition devoted to student life, Le Figaro singles out Rennes for the quality of its living environment and academic setting.

For this 2026 edition, Le Figaro analysed 64 French cities with more than 30,000 inhabitants and at least 6,000 students, divided into two categories according to their student population. The study is based in particular on data from INSEE and the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, and takes into account several criteria related to student life and educational opportunities.
