Our campuses
Our campuses in Rennes and Paris welcome students in environments conducive to success.
On Monday 5 September 2022, 301 new students arrived to join the first year of the Bachelor in Management (BiM) at Rennes School of Business.
In order to help them settle in, get to know their classmates and start putting their brains in gear for the year ahead, the students took part in the first edition of the Rennes Impact Challenge from 6-7 September 2022. The event was organised by the Corporate Social Responsibility and Bachelor Programme teams at the School, with a team of Agile and Unframed moderators to help guide and animate the students.
During the challenge, the students were tasked with coming up with creative actions that would have a positive impact on their community, the local environment and the city of Rennes, in partnership with members of the Rennes Metropole Development Council.
The main underlying goals of this event were to develop or deepen students’ knowledge of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) created by the United Nations and trigger their engagement whilst developing their research and observation capabilities. At the same time, it was a chance to develop their interpersonal skills and provided them with opportunities to create a sense of belonging to their cohort, their School and their city!
Students had the chance to go into the city of Rennes for a phase of observation and to interview some of the local residents in order to identify areas for improvement or optimisation. Each team then presented their project on a poster and had to prepare a pitch to present to a jury made up of representatives from the Rennes Metropole Development Council and Rennes School of Business.
Among the 55 projects put forward by the students, 11 were preselected by the students and moderators, with 5 projects getting through to the final.
The winning project was the “Abris bus auto-suffisant”, a bus stop with a vegetated roof allowing for the creation of clean energy through the harnessing of photosynthetic processes. This would enable bus stops to become self-sufficient in terms of the energy used for advertisements or displaying bus timetables electronically.
