The importance of undertaking and disseminating unframed, distinctive and impactful research is central to the mission and vision of Rennes School of Business. Research is also an essential vector for building partnerships and managing and communicating Rennes School of Business’ image and skills.

At Rennes School of Business, research is a cornerstone of our mission to develop Unframed Leaders, individuals equipped to connect, create, and change in transitional environments. Our strategy is deeply rooted in unframed, distinctive and impact-driven, disciplinary and interdisciplinary inquiries that contribute to innovation and transformation across businesses and society.

Research organisation 

Center of Unframed Thinking (CUT): Hub for interdisciplinary research 

Through the Center of Unframed Thinking (CUT), Rennes School of Business fosters high-level, interdisciplinary research that challenges conventional frameworks and addresses complex societal and organizational transitions. Leveraging both internal and external funding in a vibrant research environment, CUT supports innovative application of research at both sectoral and intersectoral levels through various pedagogical, corporate and policy initiatives.

Academic Departments: Disciplinary research 

Through the academic departments, Rennes School of Business nurtures and promotes discipline-based impactful research in Finance and Geopolitics, Marketing and Negotiations, Management and Organisation, and Operations and Analytics. All departments provide an inclusive yet stimulating atmosphere to the faculty to conduct and disseminate high quality research that strongly connects with teaching and practice.

Research builds on the skills of our faculty and develops specific knowledge that impacts businesses and societies whilst contributing to the development and enrichment of educational programmes for both students and executives.
