Rennes School of Business has been awarded first place at the 2026 Student Experience Awards, recognising the implementation of its Houses system, launched at the start of the 2025 academic year.
Designed to reflect evolving student pathways and increasing diversity, the model draws inspiration from Anglo-Saxon traditions. It is based on four Houses — Aeris, Terra, Aqua and Ignis — bringing together students, faculty and staff across programmes, years and campuses.
Nearly 3,600 members of the School community have been integrated into these cross-functional groups. Students are assigned randomly to a House, which becomes a reference point throughout their academic journey and encourages interaction across cohorts, disciplines and nationalities.
The system is built around a participatory dynamic combining challenges, events and inter-House competitions. This structure is designed to foster student engagement while enhancing campus life.
Beyond this, the Houses also provide a framework for experiential learning. They support the development of key transversal skills such as leadership, teamwork and creativity, alongside academic learning.
Each House is led by a student-based House Council with strong international representation. These councils play an active role in designing and organising initiatives, in coordination with School teams.
This structure is part of a broader governance model involving student associations, academic staff and administrative departments, ensuring consistency and long-term sustainability.
Fully conducted in English, the Houses reflect the international DNA of Rennes School of Business and support the integration of a community representing over 100 nationalities.
This award highlights Rennes School of Business’ structured approach to student experience, positioning it as a core component of academic life and skills development.
