Rennes School of Business supports business leaders in addressing the challenges of business takeovers

Taking over a business is not just about ensuring its continuity. It also means learning a new profession: that of a business leader. To support this transition, Rennes School of Business, through its Executive Education program, has partnered with Cerfrance Brocéliande and CEDEF on the CAP Dirigeants program.

Taking Over a Business: New Challenges for the Leader

Taking the helm of a business is a milestone in one’s professional career. For business buyers and successors of family-owned businesses, it involves finding their place, establishing their legitimacy, and gradually developing their own leadership style.

This transformation goes beyond the purely economic or legal aspects of business succession. In particular, leaders of microbusinesses and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) express a need to save time, delegate more effectively, have access to truly useful tools—including those involving artificial intelligence—simplify their management processes, and maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Developing Your Leadership Style

To address these challenges, Rennes School of Business Executive Education, Cerfrance Brocéliande, and CEDEF have pooled their expertise to create the CAP Dirigeants program.

The program addresses several key aspects of the executive role, including management, strategy, and leadership. It consists of nine days of in-person sessions spread over six months at Rennes School of Business, in a group limited to fifteen participants to encourage the exchange of experiences among peers.

The program also emphasizes practical application. Participants focus in particular on defining their priorities, structuring their organizations, empowering employees, and managing business operations. Practical tools, internal communication models, implementation kits, and a dashboard centered on five key indicators round out this approach.

next class will begin on November 20

With this program, Rennes School of Business continues to expand its Executive Education offerings for executives and professionals facing changes in their industry and organization.

Jennifer Saliba, Executive Education Business Developer at Rennes School of Business, is the program coordinator.
