Rennes School of Business strengthens its social inclusion policy to ensure equal opportunities

True to its mission of academic excellence, Rennes School of Business reaffirms its commitment: no deserving student should have to give up their studies for financial reasons.

“No deserving student should have to give up their studies for financial reasons.”

At a time when access to higher education is still largely determined by financial means, Rennes School of Business is strengthening its policy of social inclusion. The School is thus reaffirming its commitment to making its programmes accessible to all talented individuals, regardless of their financial circumstances.
Led by Adilson Borges, Dean and Director General, this initiative is based on a clear principle: combining academic rigour with financial support. The aim is twofold: to recruit on merit and to secure the educational pathways of students from modest backgrounds.

Merit-based access

The programme is aimed at students receiving CROUS grants from tier 4 onwards. Eligibility criteria vary depending on the course, but are always based on academic performance:

  • For Bachelor’s degrees (BIM, BIA), a distinction in the baccalaureate is required
  • For entry to the Grande École Programme via preparatory classes (PGE1), a ranking in the Ecricome entrance exam is required (≤ 1200 in ECG, ≤ 100 for arts students)
  • For admissions based on qualifications (AST) and Master’s programmes, candidates must be in the top 10% academically and complete the admissions process

Financial support tailored to each situation

The School offers a progressive coverage of tuition fees, depending on the grant tier:

  • Up to 45% for students on tier 4
  • Up to 60% for tier 5
  • Up to 70% for tiers 6 and 7

This support is available from the first year onwards. For the remainder of their studies, students are guided towards complementary solutions, such as work-study programmes or tailored funding schemes.

Support to safeguard students’ academic journeys

Because difficulties may arise during studies, Rennes School of Business also offers social and solidarity grants. This scheme helps students facing unforeseen circumstances, ensuring their studies are not interrupted.

The aim is clear: to enable everyone to continue their studies under favourable conditions, whatever the circumstances.

An initiative driven by the Rennes School of Business Foundation

The School’s social inclusion policy is closely underpinned by the work of its Foundation, established under the auspices of the Fondation de France. The Foundation plays a key role in supporting talent and promoting equal opportunities.

Its work is carried out through several channels: the awarding of scholarships, awareness-raising initiatives for secondary school pupils to combat self-censorship (Mélodies sur toile, Year 10 work experience placements, Mini S, Les Tribuns de la République, etc.), as well as support for impactful projects led by students.

The Foundation also develops strategic partnerships, notably with the Institut de l’Engagement, enabling five successful applicants each year to benefit from a reduction of up to 50% on tuition fees.
