Rennes School of Business stands out at the CFA Research Challenge 2025

Rennes School of Business is participating in the CFA Institute Research Challenge 2025, a global competition offering students an immersive experience in professional investment research.

Immersive Learning Through the CFA Research Challenge

Our CFA Research Challenge team, composed of students from the Master’s in International Finance programme, Damilola Ajisafe, Anushka Chakraborty, Justin Rival, Anna Prigent and Hilal Kumargal, took on this challenge with exceptional ambition and professionalism. Supported by the faculty and benefiting from the expert mentorship of Louis Cianchi, CFA, Senior Equity Analyst at DNCA Finance (Amsterdam), the team is gaining first-hand experience of the rigour, ethics and analytical precision that characterise the financial sector.

This year’s competition has already given students extraordinary exposure to the real world. Their exclusive meeting with Thales Investor Relations gave them direct insight into the strategy, performance and market positioning of one of France’s leading aerospace and defence companies. In addition, through advanced training on FactSet, the team is developing a level of practical expertise rarely accessible at the university level.

Student Perspectives and a Promising Road Ahead

The impact of this experience is perfectly illustrated by the students’ own words:

  • This challenge takes us far beyond the classroom: learning to evaluate a company within real-world timeframes is a transformative experience.”  — Anushka Chakraborty
  • Working with high-level industry experts prepares us for the rigour and expectations of real financial analysis.” — Justin Rival
  • Working directly with a large company like Thales has given us knowledge that cannot be found in textbooks.” — Anna Prigent

Rennes School of Business highlights the remarkable progress made by its team and the professionalism they have demonstrated in this prestigious competition. Their journey illustrates the school’s commitment to providing world-level experiential learning opportunities, thereby training the financial leaders of tomorrow.

More success is coming…
