AI Companion available on PumApp: a new AI assistant supporting student success

To meet students’ needs for quickly finding the right information, accessing support outside opening hours, and receiving guidance with their independent work, Rennes School of Business is launching the AI Companion, available on PumApp (web and mobile). Designed to simplify the student journey — especially within an international school —, this AI assistant helps them quickly find their bearings, understand administrative procedures, and benefit from 24/7 support between classes. It thus combines assistance for student life with support for learning.

Dual support: student life and academics

  • For student life, the assistant allows students to quickly find practical information, understand administrative steps, and stay informed about school events.
  • For coursework, students can ask it to explain a concept, generate study guide sheets, practice through interactive quizzes, or assist them in analyzing business cases.
  • The pedagogical design and instructions for the AI Companion were coordinated by the RSB instructional design team, in close collaboration with professors, to help students understand, practice, and exercise critical thinking.
  • The quizzes are formative (ungraded) to practice and identify topics that need further review.

By offering support between classes that encourages understanding, practice, and personal reflection, the AI Companion is part of Rennes School of Business’s commitment to educational excellence.

An assistant connected to the institution’s resources

The AI Companion relies directly on institutional information — regarding procedures, events, and the student pathway — as well as course materials that professors authorize it to use to contextualize its answers.
The assistant serves to support faculty teaching and does not replace human interactions or administrative teams. Students remain active participants in their learning and must verify important information.

Beta launch

Launched in beta, the AI Companion includes a feedback form where students can report issues regarding content, language, or technical performance. Their feedback will help the teams continuously improve the tool.
The result of a collaboration between RSB’s technical and instructional teams, with professors involved in its design and testing, the tool is accessible today on PumApp for all students across the Rennes and Paris campuses.
