Rennes School of Business confirms the creation of a Joint Institute in China

Rennes School of Business has taken another step forward in the development of its international strategy with the establishment of a Joint Institute in China, in partnership with South China Normal University (SCNU). This milestone was officially marked at the inauguration of the Joint Institute in late March 2026.

The project, previously approved by the Chinese Ministry of Education (MOE), involves the establishment of a joint academic structure dedicated to postgraduate programmes.

Named the RSB Digital Business Institute – South China Normal University, the Joint Institute is based on a collaborative academic model between the two institutions. It is intended to host programmes delivered locally in China within a jointly developed framework.

Located in Foshan, within the Greater Bay Area, the institute is part of a region recognised for its economic dynamism and technological development.

Joint programmes under development

The initiative includes the progressive development of several joint Bachelor and Master programmes, to be rolled out over the coming years.

Within this framework, local teams will oversee administrative operations, while Rennes School of Business will contribute to the academic dimension, including programme design and faculty involvement.

Building a structured academic presence

The creation of this Joint Institute is aligned with the School’s international strategy, aiming to establish a sustainable academic presence in China.

The project relies on close coordination between both partners to support programme development and ensure alignment with academic standards and regulatory requirements.

Supporting an international academic offering

Through this collaboration, Rennes School of Business and South China Normal University aim to develop a joint academic offering tailored to students seeking an international learning environment.
