Learning French to start your life in France with confidence

Before starting their studies in France, international newcomers can strengthen their language skills and discover the local culture through the French Immersive Programmes offered by Rennes School of Business. Designed as an engaging introduction to the French language and environment, these immersive experiences help participants build confidence before the start of their academic journey.

Learning French through immersion

The French Immersive Programmes are designed to provide a practical and engaging introduction to the language while offering a first glimpse of life in France. Through small group sessions and interactive learning formats, participants practice French in a supportive and multicultural environment.

Rather than focusing only on traditional classroom instruction, the programme encourages students to actively use the language in a variety of situations. The immersive approach allows participants to develop communication skills while connecting with peers from different backgrounds.

A dynamic and creative learning experience

During the immersive programme, participants take part in activities designed to build confidence, creativity and teamwork while practicing French.

Interactive formats such as improv games, debates, cultural discoveries about the French language and francophone cultures around the world, and mystery challenges encourage participants to communicate and collaborate. Creative group projects — including short films or musical performances — allow students to experiment with the language in a fun and supportive environment.

Celebrating progress and shared experiences

The immersive experience concludes with a closing moment where participants present their projects and reflect on what they have learned throughout the programme.

This final gathering allows everyone to celebrate their progress and the creative work completed during the week. By combining language practice, cultural discovery and collaborative activities, the French Immersive Programmes offer participants a memorable first experience of studying and living in France.

The programme will take place from September 7 to 11, 2026. Applications are open until July 12, 2026.
